Outfit: look Ma! she's all stripy

Headscarf: Thrifted
Sunglasses: Karen Walker (Gee Devotee)
Sweater dress: My Size
Cardigan: Monroe
Leggings: Evans
Combat Boots: Payless

I was doing my monthly rummage through Myer City stores sale rack (it pretty much in my opinion the best place in Sydney to find a good quality new fat chick bargain) and saw this marked down 50% from the lowest marked down price (original RRP $120 I paid $40) and I thought lets give it a crack. I looks good (the stripes are angled on the back) and lightweight and will be a great trans-seasonal piece, but it feels cheapish and definitely not worth $120 but a decent striped cardigan has been on my to buy list and I found one and it'll do.

Oh Overseas folk and probably not many Aussies even know about this Monroe brand, it's the plus size diffusion range of the big Australian brand Bardot and is sold directly through the Department store chain Myer and via their website. Targeted at 18-35 the range is mainly stocked with more professional on-trend styles and basic styles. I personally like the brand and hope that they get a bunch more support because I think the Australian youth plus size market really needs more fashionable, professional, classic, work/play clothing that isn't as farted out thoughtless  (I don't want to use that term but it's the only ones that come to mind)  as City Chic or Dream Divas offerings.

It's the Newspaper Mama

If you grew up in Australia in the 80's you'd know all about Peter Coombe, he was 'The Shit' to four to seven year old me, every day when we'd get home from school smattered between the ABC late afternoon programming would lie a Peter Coombe song and you'd jump and sing along, it's actually kind of odd as I now as an Adult appreciate how mature musically and lyrically he was as an entertainer (reminds me muchly of Paul Simon) and fingers crossed next time he hits Sydney I'm going to go see him live.

Anyway what's that go to do with my outfit, nothing really except for "What's black? and What's White? and Red all over" and today that was me

Dress: Target 2006ish
Cardigan: Basque via Myer 2006ish too
Shoes: Evans
Belt: came with a dress
Scowl: caused by society in general and American t.v.

I wore this to work today, as it was officially the first day in my and improved job so I thought I would be breezy and approachable but responsible and authoratative without sacrificing my femininity, which the outfit might of done if my tits didn't fall out of this dress everytime I sat down.

It's actually my only floral print dress, I'm not usually a fan, (unless it's Pucci, natch) and honestly not a fan or rose prints on dresses either, but I like this dress the print isprobably the most flowery I'd get unless it was hideously kitsch (which I am looking for right now)

it's time for Cardi Gras!

I found you in Byron bay when I was up there for Splendour in the Grass, she was sitting right up the back hidden in a store called The Institute of Cute, I was drawn to the store by the bubble machine oh how I love bubbles, I cam in and rummaged around I asked the shopgirl how much your friends were and she said $170 and I was about to leave and then I saw some ladybugs or some other twee shit and it's where I saw you, all demure and refined in Navy blue I almost missed you but luckily you caught my eye with all your carousel horses circling your arms and I gasped! oh how I gasped I had never seen a carousel horse print that didn't look  like baby vomit after it had been eating jubes all day, I had to have you but I couldn't afford $170 but then I looked closer, you had been reduced to $70 ($50 was what I told the boyfriend) and you were all mine, I love wearing you, I really do you make me feel happier when I wear you and I'm so happy we are together, especially in this grey crisis I'm currently facing.

My most favouritest dress ever... so far

Dress: Thrush via Etsy
Cardigan: Sara
Leggings: Have no Idea
Boots: Duoboots.co.uk
Necklace: Diva
Belt: evans.co.uk

I love red it's my favourite colour, I love polka dots it's my favourite pattern in fact if I had to style myself on anyone it would be Minnie Mouse

I'm actually amassing quite a collection of baw and polka dot adorned items and have styled the fro to resmemble ears.

This dress is actually amazing I think it's an old plus size beach cover-up from the 70's it's so bright and it's oddly versatile i often wear it blousey and tucked into jeans.
